ABOUT THE ROLE
The 1AX Account Manager plays a critical role at 1AX, supporting Account Directors through hands-on creation, optimization, and performance management of hospitality digital marketing programs, while also managing a portfolio of clients. The role is intentionally balanced across 50% tactical execution, 35% strategy, and 15% thought leadership.
This is a highly implementation-focused position, responsible for ensuring campaigns, budgets, platforms, and reporting are accurate, optimized, and aligned with broader strategic objectives. The Account Manager also serves as a day-to-day partner for a select portfolio of boutique hotel clients, supporting the development and ongoing management of holistic digital marketing programs.
At the core of 1AX’s secret sauce is the ability to combine deep hospitality marketing expertise with strong digital marketing execution. The Account Manager is expected to develop a deep understanding of each client’s business and leverage that knowledge to deliver thoughtful, revenue-driving recommendations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Tactical Execution - 50%
No task is too small at 1AX, and all team members support implementing our strategies.
Execute and optimize Google Ads (Search, PMAX, Display) and Meta (Facebook/Instagram) campaigns, including account setup, targeting, keywords, audiences, and budget pacing
Conduct bi-monthly budget and performance reviews to ensure accurate spend and identify optimization opportunities
Review search terms, Google Ads recommendations, and PMAX insights to improve efficiency and performance
Manage creative and seasonal refreshes including ad copy, images, extensions, RSAs, and PMAX headlines.
Upload and manage email retargeting audiences across platforms
Support additional channels and ad-hoc requests (e.g., StackAdapt, Sojern, testing, budget shifts, creative updates)
Strategy - 35%
Holds a deep knowledge of all areas of digital marketing - SEO, Paid Search, Paid Media, Programmatic, Paid, Social, Email - and understanding which levers to pull to drive the greatest impact.
Comes with an arsenal of ideas to drive transient room nights, meeting and event business, groups, weddings, food and beverage activations, and ancillary revenue.
Stays on top of industry trends and emerging technologies, with a passion for testing new digital tools, vetting new partnerships, and introducing innovative ideas to our clients. They’ll measure the success of new tools and comprehensively add them to the 1AX toolbox.
Loves analytics - knows the way around GA4, Looker Studio, and Excel pivot tables. Create and measure test plans, complete ad hoc analyses, and iterate on results.
Prioritizes hotel digital marketing strategies based on the hotel’s goals and need periods, anticipating client needs, always thinking one step ahead, and presenting proactive plans and strategies.
Thought Leadership - 15%
You’re a true Digital Marketing and Hotel Marketing expert. You bring a deep understanding of digital channels and hospitality-specific strategies that drive results.
You’re a “geek who can speak,” operating as a technical expert who can break down digital marketing techniques into basic terms, and can confidently educate hotel teams on the what and the why of strategy.
You’re a 1AX thought leader, regularly sharing best practices, new ideas, and trends to raise the collective knowledge of the team.
You tell stories with data. You synthesize key client insights and use data and visuals to craft compelling, strategy-driven narratives.
ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate meets the following criteria
1-3 years of experience working within a marketing leadership role at a full-service hotel or a digital agency with hospitality clients. Multi-property responsibilities required.
2+ years of experience managing paid marketing campaigns.
2+ years of experience managing organic marketing campaigns.
Identifies as a motivated self-starter and clear communicator, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple clients and vendors while staying organized, enterprising, and with incredible attention to detail.
Expertise in Google Analytics, Looker Studio, Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Meta Ads, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, Search Marketing tools, Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, Asana, Revinate, MailChimp.
Has a personal interest in the hospitality industry with experience working in hotels, restaurants, or alternative accommodations
Possesses an analytical mindset and is nimble in Excel, Google Analytics, and Looker Studio
Familiar with the nuances of a small business, like changing priorities and creative problem-solving
Love of emerging trends (AI, TikTok, etc.)
Identifies as a motivated self-starter and clear communicator
Clear communicator with demonstrated ability to manage multiple clients while staying organized and proactive
Loves travel, hotels, restaurants and pop culture
details
Base salary is $80,000–$110,000, based on experience.
Healthcare Reimbursement, 401K, Competitive Paid Time Off and Bonus Structure
The role is a fully remote, full-time position. San Francisco is preferred, but not required.
Travel may be required up to 15% of the time.
