The Hotel Chalet is a hotel and restaurant in Chattanooga, Tennessee's iconic Choo Choo Train Station. The property pays homage to it's rich history by embracing the spirit of rail travel with suites in converted train carriages. Elsie's Daughter, the on-site Appalachian bistro, celebrates regional culinary traditions with locally sourced ingredients and a modern approach.

The OPPORTUNITY

As The Hotel Chalet relaunched its brand within the historic Chattanooga Choo Choo district, its signature restaurant, Elsie’s Daughter, was uniquely positioned to grow. With a distinctive culinary concept and a built-in hotel audience, the restaurant had a strong foundation; the opportunity was to amplify its presence among both Chattanooga locals and regional travelers. By elevating Elsie’s Daughter from a hotel amenity to a true stand-alone dining destination, the goal was to increase brand awareness, drive higher reservation volume, and solidify its place within Chattanooga’s fast-evolving and competitive dining scene.

The Action

To increase awareness and drive more dining reservations for Elsie’s Daughter, we deployed a full-funnel, multi-channel marketing strategy designed to reach diners at every stage, from initial discovery to final booking.

We launched Paid Search campaigns targeting the brand, dining, and Chattanooga area keywords to capture high-intent users actively looking for restaurants or nearby dining options. This ensured Elsie’s Daughter appeared prominently when potential guests were searching with strong intent, driving qualified traffic directly to the reservation experience.

To build broader visibility, we ran Paid Social campaigns focused on awareness and engagement. Using geo-targeting, interest-based targeting, and a variety of creative formats, we introduced Elsie’s Daughter to Chattanooga locals and regional travelers, expanding reach and generating top-of-funnel demand that would support long-term growth.

We complemented this with Yelp Ads, which are designed to reach consumers actively browsing for places to eat, often with same-day or near-term dining intent. These placements helped capture diners who were already comparing options and ready to make a decision.

To directly increase reservations, we also ran OpenTable Ads, positioning Elsie’s Daughter at the top of search results within the platform. Since OpenTable users are already looking for available tables, cuisines, and specific dining times, these ads generated some of the highest-quality traffic and immediate booking conversions.

Additionally, we incorporated Email Marketing to engage hotel guests, past diners, and local subscribers. With curated content highlighting seasonal menus, programming, and reservation prompts, email played a key role in nurturing repeat visits and keeping the restaurant top-of-mind within its growing audience.

Together, these channels worked cohesively to build awareness, capture high-intent diners, and convert interest into sustained reservation growth.

The Results

The multi-channel strategy delivered significant lift across awareness, engagement, and reservation performance for Elsie’s Daughter. Paid Social campaigns generated strong top-of-funnel impact, driving over 6,000 sessions to the website and 5,400 new users, expanding the restaurant’s reach among both local audiences and regional travelers.
